I purchased my Champ in 1994 (or maybe early 1995; I can't remember) from David Briggs' estate. Dave was ferrying an aircraft across the Pacific when he disappeared. Dave had purchased it from Air Repair in Santa Paula (Harrison Bemis). I don't have any idea where Harrison found it...

Then in 2002, I received this letter:

Of course, I called Mr. Lundy immediately, and we had a nice 30-minute conversion. I sent him a number of pictures via email the next day, and we continued to correspond over the next few months. He sent additional photos of the airplane outside it's original hangar.

When the restoration was completed, I attempted to contact him again, but all attempts failed - by phone, mail and email.
